RIM reads Pocketables, follows PlayBook front-camera app advice
Thank you. Thank you so much, RIM. You listened to my advice! Okay, I'm really not arrogant and the title of this post is all in fun. I know that RIM was planning this for a long time, but it's at least nice to know that I was right . . . right?
Today at the BlackBerry World event in Orlando, the company announced that both a Facebook app and a video-chat app would be released today and tomorrow, respectively.
Now, obviously, I take a huge interest in this. And tomorrow, I'll be posting a first look of the app. I'm glad that RIM finally has something to make that front camera useful, but I am still pretty disappointed that it took this long to be released.
As for the Facebook app? Well, seeing as how, in my opinion, the PlayBook's browser is the absolute best browser available, I don't see its purpose. In fact, I'd rather be using the full version of Facebook that the browser on the tablet offers than a watered-down, mobile version that we've seen on iOS and Android. Expect this app to be available to download when you open up App World.
