StreakDroid7 HD v1.0 beta brings Honeycomb 3.1 to Dell Streak 7

Streak-7-honeycomb-31

Patience may be a virtue, but it isn't one that Dell Streak 7 users need to attain. Not anymore, anyway.

Beta 1 of DJ_Steve's StreakDroid7 HD v1.0, otherwise known as the Honeycomb 3.1 build that we got a sneak peek at earlier today, is now available to anyone eager and willing to do more than just a simple flash in ClockworkMod recovery. Unlike Steve's other ROMs, this one needs the primary and secondary bootloaders, as well as some other critical parts of the device, to be updated before it can be installed correctly.

The instructions are all laid out at the link below. The steps aren't as daunting as they may seem, but if you're not comfortable with the process, then it's probably best to hold off for now and maybe wait for the ROM to lose its beta status and shake off some of the bugs. The installation process may always be more complicated than a basic flash, but later builds will obviously be more mature and stable.

Either way, this is still yet another win for DJ_Steve and everyone fortunate enough to be using a device that he's supporting.
