The Smart Cover does protect your iPad- a bit
We all know that the Smart Cover for the iPad 2 isn’t exactly military grade protection, but the people in the above video (while mentally insane in destroying several iPads) shows us just how much of a difference it makes. Basically, the Smart Cover will do a somewhat OK job if your iPad happen to fall face down on concrete from chest height or lower, where an unprotected iPad will die quickly in such a case. Any higher and it won’t be much use. I guess that shows the importance of proper protection, although I shouldn’t talk about that seeing as how I still use my iPad 2 naked. PS: I wouldn’t advice you to try this at home…
