Today only: Plants vs. Zombies free from Amazon Appstore for your HTC EVO

Pvsz-free-amazon

The insanely addictive, highly anticipated Plants vs. Zombies for Android has just been released, and if you're not already familiar with the game then let me just say that you better be near an outlet when you start playing. You will almost definitely drain your HTC EVO 4G's battery in your attempts to prevent those zombies from getting into your house to eat your brains.

Fans of the game, which has been available on iOS for quite some time (and on PCs for years), have been hounding PopCap to release it for Android, but I bet they never expected to be able to get it for free. Yep, the reason most people already visit the Amazon Appstore every day—to get a free paid app—is what will bring legions of produce-shooting, zombie-decapitating lovers to the Market alternative. The regularly priced $2.99 app, which can only be downloaded over WiFi due to its cartoony graphics awesomeness, is free in the Appstore today.

[Amazon Appstore] Thanks, Paul!
