Vaudeville Android turns HTC EVO boot animation into entertainment
Now that we all know how to change the boot animation on the HTC EVO 4G (tutorial here), let's sit back and enjoy the show put on by Vaudeville Android created by thermanlee for his Samsung Vibrant.
Now, I don't want to encourage any childish Android vs Apple fanboy nonsense—just like what you like and let others like what they like—but it's hard not to at least crack a smile the first time you see this mustachioed green robot mascot decked out with a straw hat, red-and-white striped suit, and a cane to hook the Apple logo off screen.
Unfortunately for anyone who's now determined to have this boot animation on their phone, the frame rate is noticeably slower on the EVO (on my EVO, anyway) than what you see at right. To get an idea of the speed, download the image to your computer (the animated GIF here is being hosted by ImageShack) and play it back. It's not unbearably slow and in fact, you might not have given the frame rate a second thought if you hadn't seen this version first, but the difference is worth noting.
Even so, Andy's brief Vaudeville act is still entertaining to watch. Grab the boot animation .zip at the link below.
