ZiiLABS announces JAGUAR reference platform

jaguar - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

ZiiLABS is a company that spawned out of Creative a couple of years ago. They tried to revolutionize the world with their processing technology, but no one really cared. They launched the Zii EGG developer device, disappeared again, popped back up with some crappy Android devices this year and still no one cares. Their newest venture is the JAGUAR reference platform, with reference platform basically meaning a DIY kit for other manufacturers who want to build a tablet from their concepts and parts. The reference platform has a 7″ 1024×600 or 10″ 1280×800 screen, dual or quad core Cortex A9 CPU, StemCell media processors and runs Honeycomb. Again this isn’t an upcoming device but rather a design for a device (or rather, two different sizes) that you might see in some configuration or another branded with some other company’s logo. Seeing as how the specs are pretty much the same as every other Honeycomb tablet out there though, they will be hard to spot. The last thing we need is for it to be even easier for innovation-less companies to release their own tablet.
