Archos Arnova 7, the $99 Android tablet

arnova7 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Tablets get cheaper and cheaper, and that also goes for the tablet types that are already cheap. The Archos Arnova 7 is a 7-inch Android 2.2 tablet with WiFi and a resisitive screen. That’s it, more or less; no camera, no Bluetooth, no GPS, and likely a CPU speed that will make you bang you head into the well. For $99 you can’t expect much though, and since that’s exactly what you’re (not) getting, I guess it’s fine for 7″ worth of video player for the kids.

If you want something that has a bit more…eh..parts, then you have to take the jump up to the $170 Arnova 8 or the $200 Arnova 10, both of which are older models that can be bought at a discount these days. My personal experience with Archos/Arnova however compels me to stay as far away from anything with those brands as human transportation can get me.
