Best Buy selling HP TouchPad accessory as “iPad sold separately”

separatelyfail - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Whenever I’m in brick and mortar electronics stores I can rarely be there for more than 5 minutes before I overhear something stupid said by some employee. Whether it’s pure stupidity on his/her part or just trying to make a sale I don’t know, but it seems like these people know surprisingly little about what they’re selling at times. Not all of them of course, but some. Apparently Best Buy has a couple of these people as well, as a product image for a HP TouchPad has the very awkward text “iPad sold separately” across it. The image contains the keyboard, HP TouchPad (launching tomorrow, btw) and the charging dock for it, and absolutely no iPads or Apple products of any kind.

The sad part here is that so many people still rely on advice from such people when buying electronics. You might be lucky and get a rep who knows what he’s talking about, or you might get one that sells you a USB cable to connect your PC to your router. Then again, customers may not have understood what they were referring to if they listed “HP TouchPad sold separately”.
