Dell lowers price of WiFi Streak 7, offers $50 gift card with 4G Streak 7

Streak-7-new-prices It's not the best price we've ever seen on a new WiFi-only Dell Streak 7, but a permanent $50 reduction from Dell.com isn't a bad way to open your home to a dual-core Froyo tablet. As you can see from the screen grab on the right, the "new low price" of the WiFi Streak 7 is now $349.99.

The 4G-equipped Streak 7 that naturally runs on T-Mobile's network and can easily be coaxed into riding AT&T's 3G/4G waves is also getting some love from Dell in the form of $50 promo gift card, which then technically drops the device's price to $149.99 with two-year contract and $399.99 with a prepaid data plan.

Dell probably needs to make a much grander gesture to get more of these 7-inch slates into people's lives, but at least it's doing something. After the company's decision to launch the Streak 10 Pro in China due in part to "[avoid] a bunch of the inhibitors and barriers to success that [they've] seen in the US market," I was bracing myself for very bad news about the Streaks that are here now.

A lower price and gift card may not be the way to turn things around, but it's certainly better than the total abandonment of the product line!
