Galaxy Tab 7 coming in the Fall, packs Gingerbread

What have we here? Only Samsung's revision to its original Galaxy Tab, of course. There have been other Galaxy Tabs of larger screen sizes, but let's talk about that gorgeous 7-inch display we all love so much.

It seems that this Galaxy Tab 7, also being called the Galaxy Tab 2, will only be running Gingerbread, which is a disappointment, but wasn't unexpected. We've talked before about how Honeycomb requires a 10" screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, and it's just even more apparent with this leak.

It's sad, but true. However, the specs make up (somewhat) for the lack in software. It's got a 1.2GHz Exynos processor, 1GB of RAM, and 18GB of total internal storage. So even though it's running older software, this new iteration of the moderately unsuccessful Galaxy Tab should prove to be a more worthwhile purchase than its predecessor.
