It's official, folks.

Although most people haven't seen it yet, version 4.24.651.1 of the Gingerbread OTA software update for the HTC EVO 4G is indeed being rolled out today. And it looks like everything revealed in last week's leaks was and still is true, with the main purpose of the update being to correct the issues that were introduced with the first Gingerbread build, 4.22.651.2, released a few weeks ago.

That means that anyone who receives and accepts the update from Sprint will once again be able to watch Netflix, rely on accurate voicemail notifications, and make use of a hearing aid compatibility menu that stays put.

And as always, if you're rooted and want to stay that way, please say no to the OTA.

Update: Rooted version already available!
