HTC EVO View 4G gets updated to Android 2.3.4

Since two new HTC EVOs were released today and the EVO 3D already got a software update, it's only fair that the EVO View 4G gets one too.

Now available over the air, version 1.22.651.1 updates the tablet to Gingerbread 2.3.4 while fixing an erroneous Mail pop-up message, Google Maps, and Google Navigation. Mixed in with the good stuff, however, is an unwelcome "enhancement." Instead of adding something new, the new build disables Google Talk video chat for unknown reasons. A "future release" will supposedly bring it back but until then, don't expect to use the front-facing camera with GTalk.
