HTCdev showing off another HTC EVO 3D variation?

Hmm. It looks like the gold-ringed HTC EVO 3D that Europe is getting next month may not be the only other version of the dual-core 3D superphone. Over at HTCdev, the company's mobile developer support program, this seemingly black-ringed, smooth-backed EVO 3D is featured in the rotating banner.

Upon closer inspection, it appears that the phone may just be sporting a hard shell case—which is strange considering that none of the other devices are in cases—yet the print on the camera crystal and yellow outline around one of the lenses suggest a hardware variation. Then again, that's not Sense 3.0 being shown on the screen (that's the dock from Sense 1.0), so maybe the image shouldn't be analyzed for accuracy.
