Kickstarter spotlight: Infinite Loop stand

Whenever I see a tablet stand on Kickstarter it makes me cringe. The reason is that there have been some ridiculously idiotic designs for stands on that site, perhaps the worst of which being the iSpoon. The Infinite Loop is among the few that have something going for them, and it seems like a genuinely good idea. Basically it’s a long piece of bendable plastic with a metal core that makes it hold the shape you turn it into. You can then bend it into any shape you want for whatever you need a stand or holder for. Some suction cups and mounting clips are also included to get a better grip on the tablet, so that you can use it in even less stable conditions. It’s supposedly good for using on your stomach, cushions and any such surface where regular stands fail.

I do have some concerns about how well it will hold is shape and how the metal core will hold up over time, but if this product does what it says it will be a great accessory. You can help fund the project by preordering one of the versions, starting at $19 for the smartphone version and $35 for the tablet version.
