New Gingerbread OTA update (4.24.651.1) to fix Netflix, voicemail notifications on HTC EVO 4G
Sick of not being able to watch movies on Netflix and clearing those false voicemail notifications that moved onto your taskbar ever since the official Gingerbread update (4.22.651.2) arrived on your HTC EVO 4G? You're obviously not the only one, and fortunately, everyone suffering from these pesky bugs won't have to live with them for much longer.
A new software update, allegedly numbered 4.24.651.1, is rumored to be hitting the Sprint airwaves as early as Monday (June 20th) to squash the little critters for good. Once installed, the new build should work just fine with Netflix and the "ghost VVM indicator" should be properly exorcised. The hearing aid compatibility menu should also be more stable, and who knows what other surprises await us.
Cross your fingers that the update doesn't break anything else and as always, if you're rooted and you want to stay that way, politely refuse the OTA and wait for your favorite dev to put out something instead. The rooted version of the last OTA was available mere hours after the official rollout, so the wait won't be long.
