Good and EVO

Rooted Gingerbread update (4.24.651.1) already available for flashing on HTC EVO 4G

Gingerbread-zombie Just as he did with the last OTA update (version 4.22.651.2) for the HTC EVO 4G, xda-developers' xHausx has made quick work of Sprint's latest Gingerbread build (version 4.24.651.1) and released a rooted version of it.

Available in both odexed and deodexed form, the ROM is completely stock and meant for those who didn't accept yesterday's OTA in order to stay rooted. Now thanks to xHausx, everyone can have the most recent version of Sprint's software running on their EVOs, and no one has to choose between working Netflix and root access.

More custom ROMs built on version 4.24.651.1 will likely be available soon as well (depending on when you're reading this, some may already be out), so if using a stock ROM makes your EVO feel dirty, then it shouldn't be long before it can wash off the Sprint smell and feel clean again. In the meantime, the rooted stock build is ready for flashing at the link below.

[xda-developers] Thanks, biker1!
