Acer A100 supposedly heading to stores in early August

a100 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here
The Acer A100 7-inch Honeycomb tablet has turned into a joke with all the delays and lack of proper information. We saw a preview, then it got delayed. Then it popped back up again, and then it was gone again. The reason why people care at all in this myriad of Android devices is of course that 7-inch screen which is still an urban legend as far as Honeycomb tablets go – as well as having been blamed for the delays with people speculating that Honeycomb couldn’t handle smaller screens until the 3.2 release. Either way, a email that has allegedly gone out to Acer resellers, early August is the magic date and $300 the magic price. At this point I’m surprised if we see it in 2011 at all but one can hope, right? A 7-inch Honeycomb tablet would definitely be a nice change from all the almost identical 10.1-inchers out there.
