Alt Drawer brings a customizable app drawer to your HTC EVO

Altdrawer-preview

Why change the app drawer on your HTC EVO? This is the first question I asked myself when I saw Alt Drawer, an up-and-coming app drawer replacement that works with any launcher and (to my knowledge) any ROM!

For some people, the allure of changing the app drawer is purely the customization. I'm sure a lot of you out there can't go more than a week without completely changing the way your HTC EVO looks. EVO 4G users running MIUI, which doesn't have an app drawer, may also find this tempting. With the click of an icon, you can get an app list on your sexy looking ROM.

Alt Drawer launches easily and goes very well with LauncherPro (or similar launchers) on the dock. Normally in the app drawer you can only open an app or place it on the homescreen. With Alt Drawer, a long press on any icon brings up a myriad of options. You can uninstall an unwanted app, hide a barely used one that you can't uninstall, and (in the next version) you can rename an app.

Alt Drawer works wonderfully in both portrait and landscape modes. The app drawer replacement supports custom wallpapers, font colors, and adjustable font and icon sizes. All this customization looks beautiful in either grid or list style views.

The app is still beta, and I'm really hoping that the developer continues to expand on it and add features. Download the beta here and let us know what you think.
