Conquer enemy islands with Archipelago on your HTC EVO

Ss-320-0-12[1]Rarely has there been a game on my HTC EVO 4G that captured as much of my attention as Archipelago has.

The gameplay is surprisingly simple and straightforward; you start with an island or two in your possession, and on that island your forces slowly increase. The same is happening with the opposing team(s). At some point you tap on one of your islands and then tap where you want your forces to go; half will go and attack, half will stay behind to guard the island they're on.

You can attack and occupy neutral islands, or occupied islands, and as your territory expands so does your production of forces. The round is over when only one team has forces left on the map.

Different levels may pit multiple teams against you, or it may be a free-for-all for who controls the map. But it's nearly always a hard-won satisfying fight.

QRcode Sadly the demo version is severely limited in gameplay and the app is not free like it was on Amazon a while back; it will set you back about $3 on either Amazon or the Android Market. You can get an idea of the gameplay from the demo, but you won't be able to do much more than the tutorial.

It's an extremely fun time waster for $2.99.
