HTC EVO 3D coming soon to Rogers in Canada

Rogers-logo We have just received word that Rogers, Canada's largest cell phone provider, will soon be carrying the HTC EVO 3D, in addition to the LG Optimus 3D, the only other 3D phone currently in existence. This might explain why we recently saw a GSM version of the EVO 3D pass through the FCC, and should also put to rest some readers' fears that Sprint would no longer have exclusive rights to the EVO 3D in the United States.

According to the official Rogers forums, pre-orders for the Canadian EVO 3D will begin next week, and anyone who preorders the phone before August 15 will automatically be entered to win a $2500 MasterCard gift card. Not too shabby, Rogers.

Indeed, even though we have known for a while now that Sprint would not be the worldwide exclusive carrier of the EVO line, we should still be glad that the EVO 3D will soon be available to more people. Not only does this reflect on the success of the phone here in the US, but we should also expect an increasingly large and active developer community as the device becomes more widespread.

And in any case, we here at G&E are very happy to welcome any new readers from our neighboring country to the north!
