HTC is unlocking your bootloader in August

HTC-Sensation-1

That device right there is the HTC Sensation. If you have one, you're probably pretty proud of it. But you've also got something that you're not so proud of: a locked bootloader. That means you can't hack it to exactly the way you'd like your phone to be.

However, that's gonna change come next month. HTC today announced that the software to unlock your bootloaders will be coming sometime in August, which means you'll only have to wait for a month more for instant freedom. First up will be the global version of the Sensation, followed closely by the T-Mobile Sensation 4G, and finally, the EVO 3D on Sprint.

Hopefully this will encourage other manufacturers to start unlocking their bootloaders, too. I know that a lot of them desperately need to.
