Manufacturers get Windows Phone Mango

Mango

Windows Phone 7 came out in the fall of 2010. It brought with it a pretty awesome UI and some really nice hardware. However, it was still far behind competition like Apple's iOS and Google's Android.

Now, Microsoft has decided it's time to change that and has finally released WP7 Mango's code to its hardware manufacturing partners. This means that the update to Windows Phone 7 should hit users sometime this fall.

In case you've forgotten what Mango promises to bring, among its new features are multitasking, a much-improved email client, and Twitter and Skype integration down at the OS level. I'm very excited to see some Mango devices roll out this fall; how about you?
