Motorola Droid 3 announced, packs impressive stuff
I have my own thoughts about the Droid name, but they don't apply here, especially not with the updates to the original. Here is the Droid 3, coming into Verizon stores in exactly one week from today, which will be July 14th.
There are some pretty decent specs here, so let's delve into them. The screen is a 4-inch qHD display coming in at a resolution of 960 x 540. To drive that display, ol' Moto threw in a 1GHz dual-core processor, but unfortunately, we don't know what kind. There's also no mention of the amount of RAM. We do know, however, that you'll get 16GB to store media with, including the shots you'll be taking with its 8MP rear camera. There's a front camera, too.
One of the main features of the original Droid line has been the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Well, don't worry: it's still here, and it's been updated. Instead of just four keyboard rows, there are five, with a dedicated row for numbers.
You can preorder the Droid 3 from Verizon's website now, or you can wait to get it in-store next week.
