Official Twitter app for HTC EVO updates with push notifications and multiple account support
As a Twitter user, I have always felt the official Twitter app was lacking in two big ways. Today, however, a new update has addressed my two biggest issues and the app now supports push notifications and multiple accounts on my HTC EVO.
For the casual tweeter, hearing and seeing every message live is not always a big deal. But for someone who has not only gotten every friend to adopt the service but also is very active online, getting notified in real time of when people mention you and direct message you is important.
Once you have updated the app, you need to go into your account settings, select "automatic refresh" and then choose to receive updates for direct messages, mentions, and even your timeline updates.
With multiple account support, you can now switch between timelines easily in order to see what is being posted as well as post new updates yourself. Refreshed home screen widgets accompany this update to help with these new features, and a slew of bug fixes and other improvements are included as well.
