Pages for iPad can apparently be used for hotel check-ins

californipadcation - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

When watching an episode of Californication the other day, I noticed a less than clever use of the iPad in the episode. A hotel lobby had an iPad in a keyboard dock as the only means of looking up visitor information, which in itself is a bit ridiculous. The thing that really made me bang my head against the wall however was the app they used, Pages. Pages is Apple’s own typing app, basically a text editor. In the scene, the hotel employee looks up the main character’s bill by sliding though different documents and opening one of them. I suppose it’s possible to read bill info that way, though it certainly would be worse than impractical. Product placement gone wrong, or just a lazy props department.
