Piano Apprentice accessory turns you iPad into a piano teacher

pianoapprentice - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Over the years I’ve spent hours teaching myself songs using my Yamaha synthesizer. Its ability to read MIDI files and turn them into lessons by showing the correct keys to push on the screen was invaluable and it was a lot of fun. ION is now bringing a similar experience to the iPad with the Piano Apprentice, a dock that uses your iPad as a screen to show lessons that you play on the 25-note lighted keyboard. This way you get more/bigger keys than on a touchscreen piano on the iPad, and the keys you get are also physical – which should make the experience a lot more pleasant. Keyboards like this for kids have been around for ages, but adding an iPad for some better qulity instructions is definitely a nice improvement. At $100 it’s not the cheapest accessory out there but not overly expensive either.
