For all of you who jumped at the opportunity to get your hands on the HTC EVO View 4G tablet, you might be interested to know that, as of today, Sprint is offering a complete protection plan for $13/month.

The Assurant Advanced Protection Pack includes dedicated tech support over what you'll get from Sprint directly, including remote connection; device insurance; file backup; virus defense; tools to help locate your device if lost; and even several months of free credit monitoring if your device is stolen.

While you can get many of these services for a much lower cost with apps like SeekDroid or Lookout, there does seem to be quite a bit offered here for just $5/month more than phone insurance. Of course, you might also want to check to see if your homeowner's or rental insurance policy covers a device like the View, and you might not need the credit monitoring if you already subscribe to a similar service.

At the same time, replacement devices will only set you back $100 if you get this protection plan, which is quite a bit less than the off-contract price of $649.99.

For those looking just for insurance that only covers accidental damage, loss, or theft, a less-expensive $10/month plan does exist. Or if you are just looking for device service and support, there is also a $6/month plan.
