Samsung Galaxy 3D may be in the works

Samsung_galaxy_3d
Lately, 3D smartphones like the HTC EVO 3D have been all the rage. Everyone seems to want to make one based on the idea that since people seem to want 3D displays on televisions, they must want them on phones as well. As such, it is not much of a surprise that Samsung is reportedly working on its own 3D device.

If reports are to be believed, the device will be called the Galaxy 3D and have very similar specifications to the current Galaxy S II: a dual-core processor, 4.3-inch display, 8MP camera, and Android Gingerbread. The obvious differences would be that the 4.3-inch display would be 3D, and you would get two of those 8MP cameras for 3D images and video. Also, Samsung would likely have to give up Super AMOLED in order to have a no-glasses 3D display.

Personally, I'm not crazy about the whole idea of 3D on smartphones, but the trend appears to be growing. Do you think 3D will become a standard feature of smartphones?
