What is wrong with this HTC EVO 3D?

Since one of our topics today involves a possible manufacturer defect that is present in some HTC EVO 3D units, I thought it might be appropriate to pass along this little gem.

Apparently a customer at Nebraska Furniture Mart bought two new EVO 3Ds last week, only to notice that the camera plate was upside down on one of them. (Quick, go check your own!) The real kicker, however, is that when he attempted to return the phone to the store, he was told that this was only a cosmetic defect that would not affect the functionality of the phone. Therefore, exchanging the phone would count as his one permitted store exchange.

As this is the only case in which I have heard of this particular issue, I am sure it is simply an anomaly. These things do sometimes happen. Still, it is interesting that the retailer would so casually brush aside such a glaring defect.

In any case, the customer can now claim to those who ask that he has an exclusive limited edition EVO 3D. And maybe he can even sell it for a premium when it's time to upgrade!
