WP7Android brings Windows Phone 7 UI to HTC EVO
Phones are as powerful as their apps, and many people have loved the Windows Phone 7 operating system but not the lack of apps currently being offered in comparison to the HTC EVO 4G.
Enter WP7Android, a project to bring the beauty of Android's app support together with the minimalist style of Windows Phone all to your EVO. It's made up of several different apps.
- WP7CONTACTS offers full contacts support with Facebook integration included.
- WP7HOME is based on the MetroLauncher UI but is more than just a skin job, instead being a written-from-the-ground-up experience.
- WP7ZPLAYER is a WP7/Zune-themed player to help with the total conversion and brings your music into the fold.
- WP7PHONE mimics the phone dialer found in Windows Phone.
- WP7LOCK rounds out the set with a total conversion of your lock screen to the Windows Phone 7 lock screen.
WP7Android also has threads going on the xda-developers forum, so you can read up on others' experiences with the additions, which seem to be very promising to say the least.
