Amazing Sense skin available for unrooted HTC EVO 3D
Yes, you read that headline right. There is now a user-created skin for the HTC EVO 3D called Amazing Sense, and it's completely functional on unrooted devices. So for those of you who are still waiting to root your phones until Revolutionary comes out of its developer preview, this could be just the thing to hold you over.
You can download the theme over at XDA, and it's as simple as installing an apk file (make sure Unknown sources is checked under Settings > Applications). Then, just hit Personalize > Skin and select the new skin from the list.
According to the developer, cypis, Amazing Sense offers "pure elegance" that will take your "Sense 3.0 device on a whole new level." While I can't really stand behind such a huge claim (after all, it's only a new skin), I can verify that it is indeed a nice change of pace. The Sense launcher does look refreshed, and I have noticed other minor refinements throughout the phone after applying this skin. For now, it's definitely a keeper – at least until something better comes along.
And for those of you still clinging to your very worthy HTC EVO 4Gs, this skin will work on rooted devices using a Sense 3.0-based ROM. So be sure to try it out and let us know what you think!
