AnimGIF Live Wallpaper 2 sets any animated GIF as the background on your HTC EVO
The never ending war of customizing the look of my HTC EVO is a battle that cannot be won. I am always looking for a new way to set my phone apart from the crowd. Now with AnimGIF Live Wallpaper 2, I can set any animated GIF found on the internet as the live wallpaper on my EVO. And so can you.
With AnimGIF, all it takes is finding the properly sized GIF image and you are on your way. I should stress that this will probably determine how much you love or hate this app, as it gives you options to resize to center, stretch to fit, fit to screen, or fit vertically the GIF you are working with. What that means is that if you take a 200 x 200 pixel image and place it on say your 800 x 480 resolution HTC EVO 4G, it is going to look terrible for the most part.
AnimGIF lets you toggle not just the size but how fast the image changes, the speed while switching screens, and the frame cache to balance memory and battery consumption. There is even a slideshow option to cycle through multiple GIF files that play one after another or in a shuffle mode.
There is a free version that lets you try it out, but it will put a small watermark in the bottom corner as you can see in the screenshot. The $1.99 pro version upgrade removes this watermark and is well worth the money if you enjoy the free version.
Now we can all have wallpapers that reflect our love of a cat who dreamed of flying through space as a pop-tart.
