BlackBerry PlayBook finally getting native email, BBM in September

Playbook_bbm

Speaking of absolute nightmares (see: Droid Bionic,) the BlackBerry PlayBook has had one heck of a hard time becoming a usable tablet. The only two Pocketables editors who bought one returned them, and the lack of native, critical software also hurt it in my review. Two of those pieces of software were native BBM and email clients.

Fortunately for RIM, who has been hurting quite a bit lately, those two apps are coming sometime in September, if a new report is to be believed. Since the beginning of the PlayBook, the only way to "natively" access BBM and email was to use BlackBerry Bridge to tether your RIM smartphone to your RIM tablet. Not everyone who has a PlayBook has a BlackBerry smartphone, though, so that is pretty pointless for a lot of people.

This will surely be a nice addition to whoever still has the PlayBook, but I'm still waiting on the Android emulator
