BlackBerry PlayBook with WiMAX canceled

Ah, geez! Here is some more bad news about the BlackBerry PlayBook. If you remember, earlier this month, RIM announced that the PlayBook wouldn't be able to emulate Android until this fall. That was really disappointing, but probably not as disappointing as this.

Sprint today announced that the WiMAX version of the 7-inch tablet wouldn't be available for purchase ever, stating that, "…it’s an interesting concept, it just hasn’t caught on with business customers as much as [RIM] would like." Well, shoot. After I complained about not being always connected to the internet with a tablet that would do wonders if it was, this has to happen. Now I'm kind of convinced that people who still have the tablet aren't going to get a native email client.

Anyway, does this bum you out? I know most of you aren't even interested in the PlayBook anymore, anyway.
