Get a free HTC EVO without contract from Charles Schwab, with one large string attached

Schwab-logo To celebrate their relatively new Android app, as well as drum up some extra business, Charles Schwab is giving away a free HTC EVO 4G (white or black) or a free HTC EVO 3D to all new or existing customers who make a deposit of $75,000 or more into a brokerage account.

According to the fine print of the offer, you will receive an offer code that you have to fulfill through Letstalk.com. The phone comes contract-free (you still pay for monthly service), and while the Schwab website does not specifically mention the HTC EVO line, I did confirm with a representative from Schwab that this offer does indeed include the EVO 4G and EVO 3D.

The only string attached, and it's a fairly significant string, is that you have to keep the $75,000 in your account for at least twelve months. However, this could be a perfect deal for you if you have a 401(k) from an old employer that you need to rollover, if you've just received a large inheritance, or if you are just a good saver.

Disclaimer: Schwab did not solicit this post from us, and we aren't receiving anything from them in return. That being said, I've been a Schwab customer myself for around three years and have been extremely happy with their customer service and increasing emphasis on technology. For example, they are still one of only a handful of banks and brokerage firms that allow you to deposit checks just by taking a picture with their Android app, which is available on the HTC EVO. In my experience, their fee structure is also one of the most consumer-friendly around. So this isn't necessarily a bad place for you to park your money for a year.

If you have an extra $75,000 just laying around (doesn't everybody?), here's your chance to score a free HTC EVO 4G or EVO 3D. All the details can be found at the link below.
