Get MIUI on your HTC EVO 3D without flashing a new ROM

Tencent-miui-launcher So you've rooted your HTC EVO 3D but aren't quite ready to flash a crazy new ROM yet. Maybe you are waiting for that one specific ROM you loved on your HTC EVO 4G to be ported over, like MIUI. Or maybe you are just really in love with Sense, but want to see what all the fuss about MIUI is about.

Lucky for you, there is a way to make your EVO 3D look and feel just like it has MIUI on it, without a need for you to flash a new ROM, or even be rooted. Meet Tencent Desktop, a third-party launcher that is as close to MIUI as you can get without flashing a new ROM.

If you're not familiar with how MIUI works, there is a slight learning curve. For example, instead of an app drawer, all your apps appear on an unlimited number of homescreens, as you can see in the screenshot to the right.

I have also noticed that there are a few parts of this launcher replacement that aren't translated from Chinese into English yet, either. However, when paired with the newly-updated MIUI-style music player, this is as close to MIUI as you can get until a full ROM is available to flash.

So if you really need a quick MIUI fix on your EVO 3D while you wait, give this a spin and let us know what you think.
