Google+ now compatible with iPad, still not optimized

googleplus - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Google really did fail quite badly with the release of Google+ for iOS. The app didn’t run on iPads or iPod touches and you couldn’t even search for it in the App Store because Google forgot to account for that + symbol. Now they’ve fixed at least the compatibility issue, with the new version at least running on iPads. It’s only the iPhone version, no optimized app, which means the race is still on for who will be first of Facebook and Google+ to get an official iPad app. The fact that you can now get apps for the local grocery store but not the world’s biggest social network and it’s supposedly better competitor says a bit about these companies if you ask me, and frankly we might be better off without the apps at all, but that’s a discussion for another day. Enjoy oversized buttons and pixelated text in the iPhone version running on your iPad in the mean time.
