Kickstarter spotlight: ELASTICK

The ELASTICK is yet another clever solution to the tablet stand problem. It uses 4 elastic straps to grab onto your tablet and hold it to the central bendable leg that does that actual standing up part. While that’s a clever solution, it wouldn’t have been worthy of a mention for that alone, but it does have one feature that I find quite brilliant; the leg is shaped like a microphone handle. That of course means that it fits in a microphone holder, which opens up a whole world of possibilities to mounting the entire stand with tablet in place on anything that can hold a microphone. That’s brilliant for artists and such who want to use their tablet for e.g. sheet music, music control apps etc, and can even be a good reason for others to buy the stand and a separate microphone tripod just to use the two together. After all, you can get a microphone tripod very cheap, putting the combined price of both the stand and tripod at less than a dedicated tablet tripod would cost – with many more options for the tripod part to boot. I myself am using a DIY camera tripod stand for my iPad, and I could definitely see myself upgrading to this stand plus a microphone tripod. Pledging $40 will get you an ELASTICK stand, and they’re currently $1000 to the $15,000 funding goal with 42 days to go.
