Root Explorer for HTC EVO only $0.99 at Amazon

Root-explorer-amazon

We previously listed Root Explorer as one of the ten must-have apps on any rooted HTC EVO. Unfortunately, it was also one of the most expensive, as far as apps are concerned. Luckily, the Amazon Appstore is currently offering Root Explorer at a 75% discount, bringing the price down to just $0.99 from its former high of $3.99.

Jenn previously described Root Explorer as "an awesome file manager that gives you access to everything on the EVO and lets you switch between read-only and read-write in all of the folders with a quick tap." That's true, but it's also so much more.

Features listed on its Android Market page include:

SQLite database viewer, Text Editor, create and extract zip or tar/gzip files, extract rar archives, multi-select, execute scripts, search, remount, permissions, bookmarks, send files (via email, luetooth etc), image thumbnails, APK binary XML viewer, change file owner and group.

I use Root Explorer all the time, and I even used it on my EVO 3D before it was rooted. Simply put, it's a great, light-weight, easy to use file manager for any Android device, but especially for a rooted or unrooted HTC EVO.

I'm not sure how long this price will last, so if you've been holding off on purchasing this app (or if you obtained a pirated version – come on, support our wonderful developers!), now is the time to jump on it.
