Samsung Galaxy S II US launch delayed until Tuesday due to hurricane

G27

If you haven't heard, Hurricane Irene is headed on a path that will be directly up the US' East Coast. And if you don't know your US geography, the East Coast houses New York City. That's the city Samsung had picked to hold its Samsung Galaxy S II Android smartphone launch event on Monday.

It's not that big of a deal, though, since Samsung has only moved the date back to Tuesday, the 30th. Still, it does show how big of an impact Irene will have on a lot of aspects of tech. The hurricane has also caused some eastern Apple Stores to close doors for the weekend.

Anyway, hopefully this Tuesday we will, in fact, see the Galaxy S II launch stateside. It looks to be a pretty killer piece of hardware. Do you want one?

And if you live along the East Coast, please be safe as Hurricane Irene passes through.
