Skype for iPad is now available

skypeipad - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

After being leaked and patched up again a short while ago, Skype’s iPad app is now finally out. It’s a free iPad-specific (meaning you can’t just update the iPhone version) app that brings all the glory of Skype onto a larger screen. That naturally includes voice, video and text chat – in other words it should prove a nice alternative to Facetime for video chats on the iPad 2. From what I’ve seen in playing with the app they’ve managed to use the new screen real-estate quite well and it’s nice to finally see it on iPad, where many would say it should have been for over a year or at least since the iPad 2 launched.
