Use PinDrop on your HTC EVO to easily remember important locations
What's the easiest way to keep track of all your most important locations on your HTC EVO? According to G&E reader Madeline, it's got to be PinDrop, a new app in the Android Market that allows you to create virtual pushpins, drop them into Google Maps, and easily navigate yourself back to that exact spot.
I recently decided to give it a try on my EVO 3D, and while there was a slight learning curve for me, I quickly caught on and was saving all kinds of locations, left and right. PinDrop allows you to enter a location based on your GPS with a single button push, or by entering an address or landmark name. Once your locations are saved, you can easily find them again in list form in the app, or within Google Maps.
PinDrop might especially be helpful if you have installed a custom ROM without Sense and therefore don't have access to HTC's Footprints app. Or perhaps you (like me) sometimes have trouble with starred locations syncing properly in Google Maps.
As Madeline told us, "I completely lack a sense of orientation, so on a trip two days ago to New York this app saved my life." Maybe it can save yours too, or at least help you find where you parked. PinDrop can be found for $0.99 in the Android Market.
