V6 SuperCharger memory system turns rooted HTC EVO 4G or 3D into a beast
Itching to try something on your rooted HTC EVO 4G or EVO 3D to make your phone snappier than a sassy Bravo TV reality show character? Well, if you're comfortable with a little phone work out, then check out V6 SuperCharger, an interactive script that changes your EVO's memory settings.
One of its noticeable features is that it prevents your home screen from flipping out of memory/requiring a redraw. Although it's a bit hard to measure, you can watch what happens live on your home screen as the launcher no longer gets killed for low memory.
V6 SuperCharger touts itself as a complete memory management fix and is very easy to operate if you're comfortable with running a shell script from terminal/ADB or downloading Script Manager. There are about ten options you can choose from based on what you want to try, and if it messes up there's an un-supercharge option. As a precaution with any under-the-hood work, however, I strongly suggest you make a Nandroid backup beforehand.
I'm not exactly sure how much faster it might be, as my phone was not exactly lagging beforehand, but I have noticed a distinct lack of homescreen redraws after running other applications. Your mileage may vary.
