AT&T and T-Mobile merger trial will be on February 13

Regardless of how hard government bodies and other carriers have tried to block it, it looks like the merger between AT&T and T-Mobile is still on track. In fact, the date for the trial for the merger between the two is set for February 13th.

It might sound like a trial due to the two suits already filed against the merger would be a bad thing, but it's actually in AT&T's favor. The company wants to close the transaction as soon as possible, so having a trial to get the lawsuits out of the way is a good thing in its eyes.

AT&T's lawyer, Mark Hansen, said this about the trial:

“We’re seeking a prompt trial because we’re very interested in closing this transaction. We need to have the cloud of uncertainty removed. We’re already a month beyond where we want to be.”

We'll definitely be hearing more about the merger and its problems in February. Do you want it to go through?
