ROM Pick: FEARMEde B.3 for HTC EVO 4G

Runnymede This post is intended for rooted HTC EVO 4G users.

All right, yesterday I went on a little rant about how much I love stock ROMs. But let's face it. The ROM is built for the HTC EVO 4G, so of course it's going to be buttery smooth. However, you commenters brought up a good point: the latest and greatest is pretty cool.

And what's the latest and greatest right now? Well, Ice Cream Sandwich is on the horizon, but until then, we're going to have to settle for the HTC Bass (aka the HTC Runnymede).

This bad boy is an Android 2.3.5-touting, Sense 3.5-packing powerhouse. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, devs have started porting the Bass's ROM over to our aging OG EVO. At first, I was skeptical to flash this because Sense 2.1+ just doesn't seem to like my EVO and the bugs were too much for me to handle.

But then, Team-Blaze put out B.3 of their FEARMEde ROM. Sure, we're a ways away from a stable release, but I decided to give it a try anyway. To see her in action and check out the goods, keep reading.

The video above (again, sorry for the lack of audio) shows off all the Sense 3.5 goodness of this ROM. If it shows you anything else, it should be how smooth it is. I was, well, shocked! The ROM flipped through pages, scrolled through menus, and even let me fling the carousel at full speed.

Let's breakdown the good and bad (as of the date of this post):

The Good:

The Bad:

So, as you can see, this ROM is pretty solid as it is. I feel that Team-Blaze is going to continue to improve this ROM and bring the OG EVO community more life for our old devices.

If you want to check out the ROM, head over here. There is also a new version that is a hybrid between the Rhyme (Bliss) ROM and Bass (Runnymede) ROM. Be sure to check them both out to see which one you like better. For support on the ROM, check out its forum

Again, let us know what you think and tip us on some ROMs you'd like to see scrutinized by G&E!
