Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0 coming October 16th

Samsung certainly has a thing for categorizing almost all of its smartphones and tablets under the Galaxy name. Take, for instance, our Epic 4G Touch review, which is a Galaxy S II smartphone. There are countless other Galaxy phones and Tabs, as well, and Samsung has just added two more devices to its insanely huge line.

The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0, from left to right, respectively, are new PMPs from the company, which it announced today.Think of them like Galaxy phones without the phone; the specs are very much identical to Samsung's smartphone offerings. They both run Gingerbread 2.3.5, with heavy TouchWiz customizations. It has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, obviously, as well as a 3.2MP camera in back and a VGA camera up front.

They will each come in at a relatively affordable price, with the 4-inch Player being $229, and the 5-inch variant only $269.

It's definitely nice to see some more Android devices that aren't smartphones, especially from the types of companies that are usually only interested in them and nothing else. I'm really digging the 5-inch, and I have a feeling that you all are, too.
