Amazon Kindle Fire preorders reach 100,000 on day one

Kindle_fire

Last week, Amazon announced the latest addition to its Kindle line, the Kindle Fire. There are plenty of things that make this one hot tablet to us, including the $199 price tag and the Silk browser that Amazon is developing for it. And apparently, 100,000 other people agreed with us on just the first day.

Amazon today announced that its preorders topped 100,000 on the first day of the preorders being available, which is an incredible feat for any company. Remember, the iPad sold 300,000 on its first day, and most Android tablets can't even come close to that, so for the Fire only to be 200,000 sales off is pretty magnificant.

At $199, it makes sense that it would sell so well, even this early in its life. And remember, it'll ship out on November 15th, so there's plenty of time for Amazon to get rid of even more tablets.
