Customize the battery indicator on rooted HTC EVO 4G or EVO 3D

BatterymodEver have battery indicator envy? If you're running a 2.3.3 or 2.3.4-based ROM on your HTC EVO and have gotten tired of watching your battery diminish or charge with the stock indicator, you can flash any one of several mods collected and maintained by XDA member Vinchenzop and switch up how your phone looks.

Sadly, each one of the sets has to be downloaded and flashed separately (tutorial here). There's no easy instant-switch out from one to the other with these, so if you decide gray circles indicators are so last week and yellow square is where it's at this week, you're going to have to flash another download.

As these all require flashing and may not play nicely with your ROM, I suggest you do a Nandroid backup first. It's a bit of work in preparation to change about 1 sq cm of screen space, but it's worth it if you feel the urge to change it.

If you have an EVO 3D, pay close attention to whether you're downloading the GSM or CDMA version of the battery indicator. Flashing the wrong one could appear to work at first, but sometime later you might notice text for one part of a system application is messed up or doesn't make sense being where it is at.

And remember, extreme modders. You don't have to change everything on your rooted HTC EVOs, but you can, and that's why we root.
