Dell Streak 7 getting Honeycomb treatment
The Dell Streak 7 is…well, let’s face it – it was outdated when it came out. Android 2.2 and only 800 x 480 resolution on a 7-inch tablet wasn’t even good back in February. These days you get 1280 x 800 on the same screen size, better battery life, and better features all around. Luckily for all those early adopters though, Dell is keeping the tablet up to date now that Honeycomb no longer requires a 1280 x 800 resolution to work. The 3.2 update should start appearing on Streaks as we speak, and since this is Android you can also go grab the files manually.
Honeycomb should be a nice treat for Streak owners, and while the thing is outdated as far as the top of the market goes, it’s still a very nice tablet for a lot of tasks. Lack of updates on older devices (and I say “older” knowing full well that the thing is only ~6 months old) has been a major issue with Android since it came out (you can still buy devices running 1.6) so it’s nice to see Honeycomb on devices that weren’t designed for it.
