Facebook finally releases official iPad app

fbipad - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

So it finally happened. Skynet…I mean Facebook is now available as an official iPad app. Rumors have it that the app has been ready for ages, but that Facebook have refused to release it, eventually leading to the main programmer quitting. I have a feeling that the release of iOS 5 tomorrow has something to do with the timing, as it introduces a native Twitter feature in the OS itself. Facebook is in danger of being left behind in the mud now that Apple has officially pointed out their favorite, so it makes sense that Facebook is going to try to create a bit of news headlines for itself in the iPad world right around the same time. The app is free (naturally) and is available to download now, or update if you already have the iPhone version installed.
